Penggunaan Prebiotik Inulin untuk Pertumbuhan Kelinci Lepas Sapih

Abstract

Inulin atau Fructo Oligsakarida adalah serat dapat larut yang diperoleh dari tumbuhan dan dapat berfungsi sebagai prebiotik. Percobaan permulaan dilakukan untuk mempelajari pengaruh penggunaan prebiotik inulin terhadap kinerja kelinci lepas sapih. Sebanyak 36 ekor kelinci lepas sapih. Ternak dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok perlakuan yaitu kontrol, 0,25; 0,5; 1 dan 2 % inulin dengan 3 ulangan@ 3 ekor per kandang. Pengamatan pertumbuhan yaitu pertambahan bobot badan, konsumsi dan efisiensi pakan serta kematian diamati selama 6 minggu. Hasil menunjukan penggunaan inulin sampai 2 % tidak mempengaruhi kinerja pertumbuhan. Kesimpulan bahwa penggunaan inulin sebagai probiotik sebanyak 2% tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata pada kinerja pertumbuhan kelinci lepas sapih.
